You know, the most stylish exercise apparel usually doesn't do a good job...

And the so-called new, modern, in-trend attires don't do up to their marks either...

So, what's in and what's out, for exercise apparel?

Here are some of the things that should be "in":

-That they're of comfortable size, not too tight or too constricting

-That the material for the fabric is of good quality and flexible that can give you room to move and breath easily

-That the material is of breathable quality, suitable for high impact workouts (wherein you sweat profusely)

-That you've apparels specific to the workout you're doing

I would lump the above into 4 main factors to help you get exercise apparels that are beautiful, sustainable and functional.

1. Comfort

Tight-fitting pants and tops will make you feel "suffocated" and extremely "out of place" because, first there's the chafing, you know, the friction between the tight clothing and your skin every time you move..., and second, the places you'll get sored if you ignore this!

Go for looser-fitting styles that let you have maximum flexibility, for you to move freely with no restrictions.

And choose fabrics made of CoolMax or wicking-material as these help in the evaporation of sweat and are quick to cool.

This material is also suitable to wear under warmer clothing for outside activities.

You might want to consider lightweight material which is great for insulation without being bulky. It dries quickly and is water resistant.

Other materials like nylon, acrylic, or polypropylene can give you a good balance of functionality and comfort too.

Bottom line? Your choice should give you freedom of movement, support, make you feel good and keep the sweat away.

2. Quality

As casual as you want your exercise apparels, quality still counts...

Remember you would be exercising in them say 3 hours per week; you don't want to get work-up over repair or replacement due to faulty wears or frustrated the apparels don't last long...

3. Economy

Even with quality, you can still get exercise apparels at reasonable prices, which won't cause a dent in your pocket.

There are many brands offering quality as well as good pricing. Just shop around and compare the quality and prices.

4. Safety

Be wise! Wear brightly colored, multi-colored clothing with white, bright yellows, oranges and stuff when you exercise in the dark or in foggy conditions, this is so that people and cars can see you...

Shoes are another safety items.

Get the highest quality, best designed shoes you can afford. You can save money everywhere but not on shoes because they decide whether you workout safely....

Surely you don't want to twist, sprain or injure your ankles or legs as a result of a pair of ill-fitted, low-quality shoes? or get blisters?

Shoes are designed for the specific exercise, so don't try to jog in tennis shoes or play basketball in jogging shoes...

Get shoes that give you the comfort and support you need and shoes that have plenty of cushion for high impact cardio activities such as running or jumping rope.

Along with the shoes, get high quality, cushioned, sweat absorbing cotton socks too.

In warmer weather, wear light colored clothes to reflect the sun's rays. If you're exercising outside, bring along your sunscreen and sunglasses.

In cold winters, wear dark clothes and dress in layers. Layers help trap the heat and if you become too warm, you can remove a layer.
